How can your business help Friends of the Park?
FoMMP has never shied away from taking on projects of all types and size to benefit the Marple community and has been very successful in raising funds in a variety of ways, either by staging or taking part in community events, running raffles and tombolas, asking for contributions and donations from local businesses and families, or applying for grants.
As of June 2020 we had raised over £125,000 ourselves and helped bring in more than £280,000 in other grants and match-funding as we've completed larger projects such as the new Skatepark, refurbishment of play areas, or smaller ones like the WWI timeline to commemorate the men of Marple who fell in the Great War.
We are hoping that supporting our group to help us maintain the park and to fund future projects may be of interest to you as an opportunity to promote your business whilst showing local people that you care about the community that you live in. There are several ways to do this and hopefully one of them will suit your budget. Options include Nominating us as your Chosen Charity, becoming an Annual Donor, a Monthly Sponsor, an Event Sponsor, or having one of our Collection Boxes in your shop or premises.
Choose us as your Nominated Charity
A great way for a business to support a local group or charity is to choose a good cause to support each year as a focus for any fund-raising that you do. This is exactly what the Marple Branch of the Vernon Building Society did, when they chose Friends of Marple Memorial Park as their nominated charity for 2020.

Bespoke Sponsors: Get in touch with your own ideas!
It may be that you have other ideas that you would like to discuss with us. One of the great advantages of partnering with local businesses is the option to be flexible. Event Sponsorship:
Unfortunately we are not able to hold events at the moment but for the last few years our main fundraiser has been the annual Julian Wadden Family Treasure Hunt in the park.
As a sponsor of this event your business name and logo would feature in the Treasure Hunt programme, your details will appear on our web site and will be promoted on social media.
There is also an option to have a publicity banner displayed at the park during the event.
Alternatively, offers of raffle prizes and gift vouchers are always much appreciated to use at the Treasure Hunt or for our tombola at other events.
Collection Boxes:
A zero cost option for local shops to support Friends of Memorial Park is to have a collection box on your counter or bar for donations to the park. Of course we will acknowledge all donations of this kind received on our web site and via social media too.
Take a look where we currently have Collection Boxes in Marple Shops.
Monthly Sponsors:
A regular monthly donation of £10 or more paid by standing order will be acknowledged on the Friends of Marple Memorial Park web site with your business details plus web site and social media hyper-links for as long as you wish to continue. Monthly Sponsors will be promoted via social media, our noticeboards in the park and when we attend local events.
Annual Donors: [£250PA upwards]
An annual donation of £250 or more would be acknowledged on the Friends of Marple Memorial Park web site for a full 12 months with your business details plus web site and social media hyper-links. By special arrangement, Annual Donors will also receive a complimentary free full entry in the Business Section of the Marple Website Community Directory. As well as being a public acknowledgement, the extra benefits can include your business being found during searches on the Marple Website and the links from two strong Marple based web sites will also be beneficial to your own web site's SEO and Google Rankings. All contributions will be promoted via social media, our noticeboards in the park and when we attend local events.
