New moveable 5-a-side goalposts installed

The new 5 a-side goals have been installed in their new location. There are two sets of sockets, so the goals can be moved back and forth between two positions in order to allow the ground to recover. There are some installation issues currently being discussed with the council but the goals are ready to be used.

In the next few days, the old 5-a-side goalposts on Memorial Park will be removed but the park will only be goalless for a short period. The goal mouths have become very worn since we installed the original goals in 2017, so a while ago we decided to purchase new moveable ones through the council, who are covering the installation costs.

Four new pairs of socket fittings will be installed into the ground in two new pitch positions and then left for a few days to set. Once they have gone off, the new goals will be fitted in one of the new locations and then we will repair the old goalmouths, along with some other bald patches, so that the old goalmouths fully recovers over a longer period.

We will then alternate the goalposts between the two locations every couple of years, to avoid the significant wearing of the goal mouths occuring again.
